Vegetarian Sausage Rolls

You can’t have a party without sausage rolls, but they don’t have to actually contain meat. These contain Sossmix, onion and mushrooms and very little else.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet ready made, ready rolled puff pastry
  • 125 g Sossmix
  • 210 ml cold water
  • 1 medium to large onion, grated.
  • 1 packet of mushrooms, grated
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • Salt, pepper

Method

  • Fry the onions for about 5 minutes until soft
  • Add the mushroom, then fry on a gentle heat until all the moisture has come out and the mix has gone almost black.
  • Meanwhile soak the Sossmix in the water and leave to stand.
  • When the onion mixture has cooled, mix everything together, and make your sausage rolls.
  • Brush the tops with a little oil ( or egg ) and cook until nicely brown.
  • Eat them warm. Like most sausage rolls, they are a bit grim when they are cold.
